We have some exciting news to share: we are preparing to launch a crowdfunding campaign for Borbata!
With the Borbata crowdfunding campaign, we want to help Borbata grow, reach more players, and eventually make the game available internationally. Behind the scenes, we have already started making the first preparations. In this blog post, we will explain why we have chosen crowdfunding, what we are currently working on, and how you can get involved.
For our crowdfunding campaign, we are currently considering Gamefound as a possible platform. The decision is not final yet, but we hope to share more soon.
Why have we chosen crowdfunding?
Crowdfunding opens many new doors for Borbata. It gives us the opportunity to introduce the game to a wider audience and work towards an international release.
To make that happen, we also need to consider translations, production, and worldwide distribution. These are big steps, but crowdfunding can make them much more achievable.
The campaign will also allow us to invest more in the world and content of Borbata. This could include additional illustrations, exclusive content, upgrades, and new ways to play the game.
New possibilities for Borbata
One of our potential stretch goals is the addition of a solo mode, allowing Borbata to be played by one player.
This game mode is still in active development, but we would already like to share a small update. We may add an extra game board as an add-on to make the solo mode feel unique, challenging, and complete. As soon as we have more to share, we will post a more detailed update.
We are also exploring which other stretch goals, add-ons, and upgrades would be a good fit for Borbata. We already have several exciting ideas of our own, but we do not want to reveal everything just yet.
Developing the game together
For us, a crowdfunding campaign is not only about funding the game. We also want to involve you more closely in Borbata’s development.
During the campaign, you will be able to follow the development process, share your feedback, and potentially vote on certain decisions. This way, we can shape the future of Borbata together.
What are we currently working on?
Now that the decision has been made, we are working hard behind the scenes to prepare the campaign.
Among other things, we are working on new artwork and illustrations. We have already received the first sketches and look forward to sharing them with you soon.
We are also researching the best ways to handle production and distribution across different countries. This includes looking into potential partners, shipping options, and the languages in which we can make Borbata available.
Which language would you prefer?
We would love to know which language you would like to play Borbata in. In addition to Dutch and English editions, we are curious to hear which other translations players would be interested in.
Share your preferred language in the comments or send us a message. Your feedback will help us better understand where our players are located and which translations should be prioritised.
Share your ideas
Do you have a great idea for a stretch goal, add-on, or upgrade? Let us know! Leave a comment below this blog post or send us a message.
We look forward to continuing the development of Borbata together with you. We will soon share more about the illustrations, the solo mode, and our plans for the Borbata crowdfunding campaign.
Stay tuned!
